Great essay by Eric Alterman.

Liberals, as Michael Kazin put it, have morphed in the public imagination "from people who looked, dressed and sounded like Woody Guthrie to people who look, dress and sound like Woody Allen."

In my blog I use a quote from John Kenneth Galbraith "The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." These "Christocrats say they follow Jesus, but they really only live by selective quotes from the OLD testament. They is certainly a disconnect from the rhetoric and the facts of being a conservative of faith. Jesus never spoke of homosexuality, but he did talk about the poor.. a lot.

Hey, Left -- take a look at the top of No More Apples -- I've been using the same Galbraith quote for more than a year! Great minds?
